I used to think there might be such a thing as love-at-first-sight, then it occurred to me that it's structurally flawed as an idea. It works well as a trope, a storyline, a quick finish to a long tale; but even idealistically it's bullshit. Not like 'breakfast is an idea made up by the cereal companies' bullshit, but in the fact that love isn't possible in a moment or without pretense. Love is about growing with someone, and becoming better through respect, compassion, and loyalty. And if it's not... if I'm wrong... if it's just some word created by Kellogg's to sell cereal at first sight, then fuck it. What's it good for?
That said - yes; I do believe in love at first sight. At birth. It's a hormonal reaction in primate mammals that makes mothers care for their young.
